Free web hosting service is a great help for people who want to learn managing a self hosted site or blogs with minimum expenses. Even though I’m already satisfied with my current paid hosting, I like to try any free web hosting I can find. I usually used it to host my experimental .cn domains 
Last night, I tried a free web hosting service in Freehostia. Their free hosting service offers free php scripts installer through Elefante, and that got me interested since I have no experience with Elefante scripts installer before and used Fantastico instead.
Freehostia sign up process is pretty fast. When you finished your order, in 30 minutes you’ll receive an e-mail in your e-mail account you used when you register yourself. Those email contains your cPanel and FTP login information of your free web space you order.

I feel that Freehostia specification was pretty good for a free hosting service since they force no ads and offers Elefante script installer. However, their MySQL Database amount and memory limitation will make bloggers who wants to have 2 self hosted Wordpress blogs with their on domains in one account not possible. Their cPanel access was kinda slow, unlike Blogger.com or Wordpress.com blogs free service. And their Elefante scripts installer was not as pleasant as Fantastico that supports automatic upgrade for their installed scripts. Upgrading your wordpress through manual uploading was kinda uncomfortable for me
Oops.. It’s not that I’m not being grateful for their free web hosting service, I’m just comparing with other services, no offense. For those who were looking for a free hosting service to learn using Wordpress or practicing SEO, Freehostia can become your training grounds before you buy your own hosting space and using a self hosted Wordpress for your blogs.
